1. Achieving reliable and secure electrical connections
This is the fundamental meaning. The wiring harness is ensured to transmit current (high voltage) and signals (low voltage) stably through professional terminal crimping, insulation sheaths, and error-proof connectors. It strictly isolates high and low voltage to prevent short circuits and leakage. It must meet the strict safety standards for household appliances, such as passing a 1500V withstand voltage test, and using flame-retardant materials to prevent fire risks.
2. Significantly enhancing production efficiency and promoting large-scale manufacturing
Without wiring harnesses, workers would need to solder hundreds of wires one by one, which is time-consuming, labor-intensive, and prone to errors. The wiring harness, as a whole, only requires a few simple “plug-in” operations on the production line to complete the internal wiring, greatly simplifying the complex assembly process. It is one of the core technologies for the large-scale and low-cost production of household appliances.
3. Making product design modular and reducing maintenance costs
Modern appliances often adopt modular design, such as the display panel of a refrigerator and the drive board of a washing machine. The wiring harness is the bridge connecting these independent modules. When a component (such as the refrigerator door light switch) is damaged, maintenance personnel only need to unplug the corresponding wiring harness plug and replace the module, without having to disassemble the entire machine. This significantly reduces the difficulty and time of maintenance, making “replacing modules” possible instead of “replacing the entire machine”.
4. Resisting environmental stress and ensuring long-term durability
The internal environment of household appliances is harsh (high temperature, vibration, humidity). The wiring harness is designed to consider these factors: the wiring harness in the freezer compartment needs to withstand -40°C low temperatures, and the wiring harness at the door hinge needs to be able to withstand more than 100,000 bends. Special corrugated tubes, oil-resistant tapes, and other protective layers can effectively prevent the wires from wearing out and breaking due to vibration and friction, ensuring the lifespan of the entire machine.
5. The foundation for achieving complex control and intelligent functions
The intelligent functions of modern appliances (such as precise temperature control in multiple zones, variable frequency, Wi-Fi control) rely on the high-speed signal interaction between a large number of sensors and controllers. The signal lines in the wiring harness (usually 0.08-0.22mm²) are specifically responsible for transmitting these instructions. Without a stable and anti-interference wiring harness, the temperature data collected by sensors (such as the resistance change of NTC thermistors) cannot be accurately delivered to the main control chip, and functions such as variable frequency and precise temperature control would be impossible.
