The Application of Bimetal Thermostat in Small Household Appliances– Electric Iron

  The main component of the electric iron temperature control circuit is a bimetal thermostat. When the electric iron works, the dynamic and static contacts contact and the electric heating component is energized and heated. When the temperature reaches the selected temperature, the bimetal thermostat is heated and bent, so that the moving contact leaves the static contact and automatically cuts off the power supply; When the temperature is lower than the selected temperature, the bimetal thermostat recovers and the two contacts close. Then switch on the circuit, the temperature rises again after energized, and then disconnect again when the selected temperature is reached, so repeatedly on and off, you can keep the temperature of the iron in a certain range. By adjusting the selected temperature of the screw, the more downward rotation, the static contact moves down, the higher the selected temperature.

  The tool temperature of electric iron converted from electric energy to heat energy is determined by its own power and the length of the power time, the wattage is large, the power time is long, the temperature is high, and the temperature is slow, the temperature is low.

  Automatic switch is made of bimetal disc. Bimetal Thermostat are made by riveting together pieces of copper and iron of the same length and width. When heated, the bimetal thermostat bends toward the iron as the copper sheet expands larger than the iron sheet. The higher the temperature, the more significant the bending.

  At room temperature, the contact at the end of the bimetal thermostat is in contact with the contact on the elastic copper disc. When the electric ironing head is connected with the power supply, the current through the contact copper disc, bimetallic disc, through the electric heating wire, electric heating wire heating and heat to the bottom of the iron metal plate, the hot plate can be used to iron clothes. With the increase of power-on time, when the temperature of the bottom plate rises to the set temperature, the bimetal thermostat fixed together with the bottom plate is heated and bent downward, and the contact at the top of the bimetal thermostat is separated from the contact on the elastic copper disc, so the circuit is disconnected.

  So, how do you make the iron different temperatures? When you turn the thermostat up, the upper and lower contacts move up. The bimetal thermostat only needs to bend down slightly to separate the contacts. Obviously, the temperature of the bottom plate is low, and the bimetal thermostat can control the constant temperature of the bottom plate at a lower temperature. When you lower the temperature control button, the upper and lower contacts will move down, and the bimetal thermostat must bend down to a larger degree in order to separate the contacts. Obviously, the temperature of the bottom plate is higher, and the bimetal thermostat can control the constant temperature of the bottom plate at a higher temperature. This can be adapted to the fabric of different temperature requirements.
